Williams 28 Bass Boat

The Williams 28 Bass Boat – a new take on the Stanley 28.

Almost three years after selling their Stanley 36, a couple from Marion, MA, has decided they need a new way to enjoy fishing & cruising Buzzards Bay with their grandchildren. Having decided that they wanted something smaller than the 36 but retaining the inherent stability, sea kindliness and good looks, the natural choice was to move to the Stanley 28.

It’s almost impossible, if you are boating in Southern NE, not to see and appreciate the looks and style of a Mackenzie Bass Boat, Dyer 29, Palmer Scott, Crosby Striper or Fortier 26. They all embody classic good looks and excellent reputations. The new Williams 28 Bass Boat has combined some of the characteristics of these beauties along with our reputation, solid construction and hull design. Add a new generation Yanmar 260hp electronic engine and you have a fast comfortable platform on which to chase stripers.

Construction started in February 08 in anticipation of a June launch. The hull is hand-laid solid fiberglass with the decks and platform using composite panel construction. The idea was to keep the boat light and simple with the engine and steering being the only mechanical systems aboard. A small head is installed in the forepeak for comfort. The teak windshield is the defining component of the boat – setting it apart from the other designs while maintaining that unique, signature, Stanley Yacht look and feel. Natural teak toe and rub rails complete the wood package keeping maintenance at a minimum.

The hull is burgundy with tan decks and platform. Besides being fun to zip around in the Williams 28 Bass Boat is a head turner in any harbor.
