From stem to stern, this handsome extension of the Stanley 36 is a wonderfully successful marriage of traditional lobsterboat and refined cruising yacht. True to its solid Maine pedigree, its design is clean, functional, and beautiful. You will be proud to pilot it into any harbor.
The Stanley 39 is the latest addition to the line of fine downeast cruisers crafted with pride by John Williams Boat Builders. You couldn’t ask for a better vessel on which to cruise the New England coast, travel the Intracoastal Waterway, or spend the winter in warmer climes.
Throughout, this exceptional yacht is carefully planned and beautifully finished. The covered cockpit, more than seven feet in length, leads into the salon/pilot house and then forward to two distinctive cabins. Finished in the traditional Herreshoff manner, the interior’s bulkheads are Awlgripped in white with varnished Honduras mahogany trim. In the 12-foot long, full-beam salon/pilot house, the steering console is to starboard, with the fully equipped galley located just aft of it. When it’s not meal time, covers pull out over the sink and stove to create a handy chart table. Adjacent to this area is a dinette which can be designed to convert to an occasional bunk.
In the forecastle, the private master cabin features a center-line double berth with access from either side. To port and starboard are comfortable seats, as well as a bureau and hanging locker. Just aft of the master is a delightful owner’s study whose settee converts to a double berth when a second cabin is needed. When you are not entertaining guests, the half-bulkhead between these two cabins creates an especially open and spacious feeling. When company is aboard, this partition can be fully closed off with curtains, folding doors, or a sliding bulkhead that functions like the roll top of an old desk. In the yacht’s head, you’ll enjoy the luxury of a separate enclosed stall shower.
No matter where your cruising takes you, you will go there in comfort aboard the Stanley 39. And when it’s time to hoist the anchor or cast off the lines, you’ll appreciate the convenience of hauling your dinghy onto the boat deck. In this masterful design, every need has been anticipated so that you can enjoy your yachting to the very fullest.
